Outstanding
I love the way the light seems to be shining from the cover on to the guy’s mush.
May 2024 - Lovely Warm night in our friends garden observing the Northern Lights. I’ll never forget that experience.
Cheers @Timbo. Nice photo.
Shame about the fence (I recall they put up a perspex shield at Oscar Wilde’s tomb nearby due to vandalism) and I miss the old white bust headstone.
Do people still graffiti the surrounding graves? I’d like to think not, but seeing what happened to Jim’s motel room in LA, I’ll guess they do. Glad I stayed in it when it looked as if he’d just left…
I’m afraid my landscape work in north London is often limited to cloudscapes…this from 30 minutes ago:

There is a protective fence up and the tomb is sort of nestled in so difficult to get a decent photo. On the whole the area was very tidy, oh and there is the “gum tree” which I thought was a bit yuk! Wandering around the cemetery most of it looked very tidy and some really interesting tombs, but very crowded I’m surprised they can fit anymore in. About four others were there when I arrived but once they had gone I had chance to lean over a take a few shots. I did have a chat with him, but that’s just between us.
Tim.
I was the only person at the grave when I visited in the 80’s. My photos are up in the loft somewhere but this is pretty much how it looked, a few less items on the headstone than I remember on the day.
I went there in 1989 just after the bust had been nicked. But I heard last year it had been recovered. I would nice to see it back in place.
Lydd VOR/DME becon? Just off the Brenzett straight?
Yes exactly.
Odd how you see something and instantly know what and where it is !
I wonder…are the feral/stray cats still in residence at Pére Lachaise?
Saw quite a few when I was there.
Yes they must be, I saw quite a few cats and didn’t think anything of it.
