No radio

Radio not working the system says stopped.

Pet, if you’re still using Vtuner presets with your Uniti Star then you may well have seen that their service is currently down;

The good news though is that with the most recent firmware onboard your Star can use Naim’s new Internet Radio service. You just need to ensure it’s up to date and then delete your current presets. More info here about Naim Internet Radio:

:+1:

Hi, assistance required please. I have suddenly lost any and all radio stations on my Musos and Qb , meanwhile I still have it on my 552. The latter indicated I needed to delete presets and re store my favourite radio stations as they were about to expire which I have done.
All units are running the latest available software.
I understand Naim have changed their radio streaming service recently which no doubt is the cause.
Are the Musos and Qb now scrap?

What in all the information written in the streaming section and in the sticky note is not clear to you?

Cheers Robert,
Thats very helpful, I appreciate your constructive approach.:+1: Pity that not all users of the forum can’t be civil but c’est la vie. It can’t be fun being a miserable old git :frowning:

Sonorous, even though the new in-house Internet radio service is not quite ready for the earlier legacy streamers, as you have an ND555 that can use this right now, you can use the multi-room function to send IR from the 555 to your Mu-Sos.

What’s not clear to me:

  • what earlier/legacy means precisely – green display (as some have written)?
  • when we can expect firmware for the above, even a rough estimate
  • why it takes days to get information
  • why some people can’t be sympathetic to those asking legitimate questions and understand that navigating the forum isn’t a breeze to non-regulars

I hope that’s clear enough, but glad to clarify further if required.

Are there 2 or 3 gens?

Yes Legacy means the 1st generation streamers easily ID’d with green screens
Some news is promised to release tomorrow 03-02-25
It might appear to be days, but in my experience this is typical of beta stage Software development. This is normally done outside the public domain, but it appears whatever is happening with vTuner has prevented this.

This means any 1st gen Naim streamer. Specifically, 1st Gen Mu-So & Mu-So Qb, Uniti, Uniti 2, Unitilite, Unitiqute, Unitiqute 2, NAC-N172, NAC-N272, ND5XS, NDX, NDS

2nd Gen Streamers can now use Naim’s in-house Internet Radio service provided they are running up to date firmware.

1st Gen Streamers will also be able to run Naim’s in-house Internet Radio service as soon as their new firmware to enable them to run this is ready for release (soon).

What a lousy service is NAIM delivering since it is not able to have the Vtuner restarted within 24 hours. It’s not the first time, and each time it takes to much time to have it up and running in a reasonable time. Hope that this will be solved too.

Its not up to naim; plus allegedly theres no response from vtuner sccording to other info posted here from other manufacturers.

Kuperus, after the last Vtuner outage a year ago Naim started planning on developing their own in-house Internet Radio service. It Iaunched a few months ago for current products (New Unitis, Mu-So Gen2, NDX2, ND5XS2, ND555, New Classics etc…) and Naim have been continuing their work to bring it to older legacy Naim products as well. Their original hope was to have it ready by now but I know that due to limitations of the earlier hardware it was quite tricky to do, hence why it’s not quite ready yet (unfortunate in light of Vtuner’s failure yesterday).

So, hopefully very soon users with older 1st Gen Naim streamers will be able to apply a firmware update to take advantage of the new Naim Internet Radio service. In the meantime, for as long as Vtuner is down you might be able to use other devices to send IR to your unit, either by Bluetooth (if you have it), Airplay, or by direct connection. If you also have any of the current streamers in the house you can also use one of them to send a multiroom cast to your unit.

The vTuner web player is working

Different server and/or api, clearly.

I imagine vTuner have no incentive whatsoever to get the Naim service working, which was always going to be an issue during this transition period. Roll on the new iRadio for the legacy streamers. I don’t have any these days, but it should bring a big improvement to those that do. The new Naim iRadio is really excellent and a tribute to those who have worked so hard to deliver it.

OK, thanks. I have 3 devices. All are 1st gen.

Hi, guys, my device is a Naim Mu-so Qb 1st generation.
Some of the radio stations (basically the Italian ones I listen to from time to time) are working, the UK ones are down instead.
The problem is that Naim will never update the firmware on my “old” device, which I find very frustrating…
