Today I was to test Vertere 4-pin/XLR interconnect between my 552PS and NAP500, a loan from a dealer.
I shot down both the 552PS and 500PS before switching cables. New cables in. Switch on both power supplies. Familiar electrical “light crack” trough speakers. Turned on some music. No sound from speakers….Only sound from my nSub that is connected to the 552PS. I switched down again and put in the Naim interconnects again hoping for some music. But no. No music. Only from nSub…
I switched to a second pair of speaker to check if speakers were damaged. No. Same thing. No sound through second pair of speakers either.
I shut down 552/500 power supplies for 5 minutes and tried again with original Naim cables. No. No sound this time around either.
Anyone have a clue what could have happened and what to do next?
I’m not sure on the Vertere cables, but remember the standard Naim DIN4 to XLR cables between 552PS and 500 are handed. Green band ch1, Red ch2.
Get them the wrong way around and you’ll get no sound.
