I wouldn’t miss out on one of the real Naim original Classics. ![]()
Probably a few people will have a fit at me saying this, but for an upgrade I’m eyeing a NSC 222 with a pair of Boxem Arthur’s. But no such funds atm, so will have to wait and who knows what else will be available when things change.
Especially if you go for the Orange fascia.![]()
I assume that is the colour you’ll be buying.
Seeing these preloved for €5000 now even here in expensive NL, which given used prices of NDX2 and 202/282s and PSUs is actually not so bad. But given that here Atom HE are now at €1700-2000 it’s still steep and the latter is the bargain (if no vinyl needed).
Adding a NAP200-DR cheaply (plus an expensive cable) to both builds a great VFM system fast.
Oh, no. I’m much to conservative for that. Probably black, maybe white.
Sorry I thought you were from the Netherlands. ![]()
I am. Just didn’t get the reference, thought it was an honest thought.
That expensive cable will quickly reduce the vfm…
So expensive is important Daddy ?
What about performance eh ..?
It was just a word of caution that some extra money would be needed over the now attractive used prices of these OC power amps to use them with the Atom HE or NSC222.
Form memory a few years ago Atom HE sounded great with both the 200-DR and a serviced 250-2, I don’t recall what cables were used, probably a Mogami design-a-cable or Chord.
For the NSC222 there are the official Naim cables which at a price should be the usual good quality. Have “only” heard the official NC 222/250 pair, not the 222 in combination with an OC power amp, but should be good (enough) especially as a starting point.
I guess on topic perhaps SN3 has been superseded by a streamer/pre-amp with power amp, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing, and there are plenty of preloved SN3s around.
