With respect, unless you can source better quality versions abandoning favourite music is a ridiculous outcome. If truly that unbearable just swap out the Qnet on occasion and have a session of old favourites. Or find a more sympathetic way of improving sound.

I’m glad I did the Nordost. I appreciate the humble Wiremold and Powerlines more now. There is all this artificial detail with Nordost - Taylor Swift’s voice sounds likes she’s got throat issues. It’s trying hard to add detail where there is no detail to add!
And the worst thing - the system just doesn’t swing!
The no sore throat Taylor swift is at my place whenever I want her to sing “ live” for me

Running my experiments with Nordost, Similar to the qnet comments, I’m finding the Red Dawn into the QB8 more cohesive than the Valhalla 2.
The naimophile comments around the Qnet - while he’s thinking the Qnet is revealing bad recordings, I suspect the Nordost stuff is just tearing things apart trying to find detail where there is none to be found, and failing to put it all together in a cohesive fashion - or rather thats the effect its having on the noise-shaping that is done by the Naim streamer…
So it’s not the qnet directly - its the qnet doing something to the signal and that impacting the noise shaping algorithms that naim has - since naim didnt expect signals like the qnet provides..
I have tried more power cables than I can remember on Naim boxes. I always end up with Powerline. It’s an extension of the Naim box IMO. Essential for best performance. Many other cables will provide a drift in different areas which at first can catch your attention but non have sounded as cohesive and Naim as Powerline to my ears.

@Maryland - I’ve ordered the improved version from ProMusica now for $900 and will put it against the Nordost QB8 MKiii.
I tamed the QBB finally by putting a red dawn 20A (original) on it instead of the Valhalla2. Sounds much better!
it’s one of their rare moments where everything sounds perfect and one daren’t change anything. Reminds me of why I went down the Nordost rabbit hole in the first place. The Valhalla2 on the powestrip and the Freys replacing the Powerlines didnt make things much better - and arguably worse!
This is 20A QBase III QB8 with 2x QV2 and 1 QK1 with Red Dawn into QBase and Naim powerlines all around.
Doesn’t quite have the boogie of the Wiremold - but I can give some of that away for what this system gives me.

Every change you make improves your system. I’m guessing it sounded unlistenable last year?
Was good last year, now after demoing and adding some gears , tweakings, it sounds more to my preferences and room environment . And I shall take this time to really sit down and enjoy the music.. after adding what I need/intend to add

Shouldn’t we stay still in the Norse mythology? Borr, father of Odin, might have the answer we are looking for ahah.
Hopefully it will take you a while (
