Nova Transformer Hum

Update to the Nova hum issue. The unit was swapped for another which hummed. Tried installing Audioquest Niagara 1200 mains conditioner which didn’t solve the problem. Then took a deep breath and tried the separates route with Supernait3 and ND5 XS 2 streamer and, you guessed it, the SN3 hummed. Sound was fantastic but the hum wasn’t. The solution? A Rega Aethos amp coupled with the ND5 streamer and Special Forty speakers. Outstanding sound; no hum. Does this bother Naim, it ought to.

You never tried a simple DC blocker? The Audioquest Niagara 1200 doesn’t include DC blocking which was your problem.

I just installed an Isol-8 PowerLine Axis DC blocker. Hum gone and fidelity up a significant notch.
