NSS Streamer, Gap, skips & Stalls

I have an NSS333 combined with NPX300 supported by NAC332 and NAP350. This set up is about a year old.
About 2 months back I started experiencing breaks in music (a track will not play for 10 or 15 seconds & then start as if it was playing all along but wasn’t audible!). Simultaneously there was an unusually long drag to shift from one track to another (sometimes upto 10 to 12 seconds). At times music will commence & then the screen will light up a few seconds later.
I checked the WiFi set-up. Rest of the equipments at home are working well. Both wired & wireless speeds are very decent. So the only weak link here was if there was a problem with the router port where the wired connection was connected. I changed that to see if that makes a difference.
About a week back I borrowed a friend’s NDX and then over three days I didn’t have any problem whatsoever.
My dealer sent me his demo 333 and the problem resurfaced.
I am at my wits end trying to figure out the problem with streaming & the lag in buffering. In all of this I also deleted & reloaded the Tidal HiFi a few times but to no vail.
While I work with my dealer to solve this problem I am curious if anyone else has some thoughts on what I could do to check & address this problem.

I’d definitely hardwire with a different network lead (they do go faulty) and then disconnect all other wired devices to see if that resolves the issue. If it does, look for an IP conflict. For example does your Naim have a static ip ?

If you haven’t already, power everything down including your router. Wait 15 mins. Power up router only. Wait 5 mins. Power up network switch (if using). Then power up 333.

If unsuccessful, you could always try a factory reset.

Use a wired connection, if at all possible.

If wifi is a must the perhaps restrict the router wifi to either 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz.

I agree with @spile that this sounds like an ip clash. The best way to fix that is to leave the streamer using DHCP but fix the ip address to be given to that MAC address in the router setup.

But I don’t agree with other suggestions about fixing the WiFi on one or other band. This is not necessary or desirable with modern routers and is a total red herring in my opinion.

Can you document your network/connections in detail. Also, what version of firmware is the 333 running?

It sounds like maybe an IP conflict. Does your router handle DHCP requests? Do you have an Access Point that is also handing out IPs via DHCP (you don’t want both handing out IPs)?

Thank you for all your prompt suggestions. I wasn’t aware of IP conflict causing such issues. I also am not familiar with how to fix this issue at the router & streamer level. Let me seek some local help to get this resolved & then post again here on this thread.

At least one of the BT (British Telecom) routers does not connect the 5GHz and 2.4GHz WiFi networks by default. There maybe a switch deep in the router menu to allow things on 5GHz WiFi to talk to things on your 2.4GHz WiFi.

There was a firmware bug that affected an obsolete BT router for a couple of months some years ago, but nothing remotely up to date is going to have that problem these days.
