It’s nearly 6 months since biting the bullet and buying a dedicated music server (thanks to Martin at Audiostore again for guiding me through the maze of options). Now I thinking about a LPS … just a belated valentine treat!
Now my question is how close / far should it be placed from the server? I was hoping to place it below the black box but will that interfere with the Unitiqutes. Please excuse the dust …
Why not place it next to the server, otherwise just treat it as you would a normal power supply in a Hi-Fi rack. Out of interest why are you adding a LPS to the server and what are all the UQs for ?
It’s Quadraphonic.
Octophonic, even.
Good idea … I’m not sure of the size yet. Waiting on a comment from Martin.
The qutes are my sub systems: 2xbedrooms, study and kitchen. Excellent for a multiroom experience… however, that seems to be a bit of a problem at the moment. But I just turn the volume up on the NDS - multiroom days are over.
Ah I see. I’d not worry too much about the PSU positioning in that case. Good idea for multi rooming though
Typically the DC wires that come with the HDPLEX or similar are about 1 meter long so below would work. Mine is about the same from my Roon pc it has been further away before I resorted the shelve but did not notice any change. Nice to see dust, I have dust as well!
Before buying my HDPLEX200, I contacted Larry (he runs HDPLEX) and explained that I needed one lead to be 2.5 metres long. When my supply arrived, it had the standard set of 4 dc leads, plus the long lead thrown in for free. Such a nice thing to do.
Best regards, BF
As with any hifi cable you can upgrade the DC cables, MCRU in the UK and Ghent in the Far East make some alternative cables for the ultimate in tweaking.
