I bought a P6 (with Exact 2) a couple years ago for my 2nd system in my home office. It gets a lot of use, probably 7-8 hours a week - a lot considering that’s just for the Mondays and Fridays that I work from home. It now runs through a Nait 50 and Rega RS3s.
I just love this thing. It feels very true to the whole British audio tradition I think so highly of - lots of smarts, classic package, little things adding up to a lot, and that slight “I made this in my garage” feel (counterbalanced by the superb build quality of the RB330 arm - another classic Britishism - fine casting and all) - all resulting in absolutely superb sound. I love the understated looks. I’m a particular sucker for the body design of Exact - whoever designed that is great - it could only be British (for some reason, every time I look at it I think of a Nimrod bomber). But most important, just great music for the money. It ain’t my LP12, but it has its own strengths and charms, and I can listen to it for hours and hours with pleasure - the ultimate test.
Been on a Haydn/Mozart chamber music tear lately and it just plays that so well –
This is my fourth Rega TT - and by far my favorite (others were lesser models).
