Olive XPS or XPS2?

Hi forum

I am thinking of adding a PSU to my NDAC.

Are there many differences between the olive XPS and XPS 2, apart from the obvious visual aspects ?

The internals are different.
Olive XPS works very nicely with nDAC.

I hope to try to get hold of a olive XPS , as it would fit in with my 82 , 250, quite well in the future.

Cd555psu would fit in nicely too with an nDAC and some olive.

Pieman, am currently considering whether to repair the lost channel on my olive CDX or to replace with newer device (See New Year Quiz query on this community). If we decide to replace, it and its partner Olive XPS will then become available in due course if that might help you?

I have an Olive XPS at NDac. I bought the XPS a few months ago, freshly recapped with a 2-year warranty, from a dealer specializing in Olive devices (price 1.2k). The improvement in sound quality was immediately audible, even at the dealer’s demo. In the meantime, I have replaced the older Burndy that was included to the package with a newer Burndy SXPS, which is slightly better. A NAPS 555 power supply would certainly be even better, but at a significantly higher price, even second-hand (about 4k). That seemed to me to be too high an investment for my NDac, which is 14 years old. May be I will add a full Powerline to the XPS in the future. But I am satisfied with the Olive XPS.

I currently run an olive XPS into my nDAC. I should really get it an XPS2, coz (a) it matches visually, and (b) I feel sure that my CDX would like to have its XPS back! :laughing:
