This seems a sensible decision …
Any targets could be irrelevant, due to uncertainty about the Olympics going ahead. I have read reports that there is a lot of public demand in Japan to cancel them. Time will tell I guess.
Japan has been very slow with vaccinations, only about 14% so far I believe…
Common sense would suggest cancellation surely. Money says not.

I used to love the Olympics. Now they have been watered down with so many lame subjective sports, and have become a political football, and in this country a propaganda tool. (In much the same manner as the Soviets used them back in the day.)
All in the name of commercialisation …?
Commercialization and empire.
I am personally looking forwards to the athletics. There is a wonderful cohort of sprinters male and female coming on. The recent NCAA championships highlighted a huge amount of talent. Here’s hoping it goes ahead safely.
Watched Brazil and Germany in the football today.
Cracking game!
See they didn’t even bother trying to get the Scottish, Welsh and NI FA’s to agree to a men’s GB team this time. Perfectly fine for the Women apparently, so clearly it is possible!
Aussies started off their football campaign by defeating Argentina 2-0 last night great game spoilt by a stupid ref.
Some good rowing this morning, although if the wind picks up it will be a tricky course.
racing on Monday has been scrapped because of the weather forecast
I wondered about the rescheduling …
Looking forward to seeing the eights race tomorrow. I’m going to be recording a video review of the day’s racing for British Rowing early tomorrow morning, so hopefully there will be some good racing to talk about.
for anyone interested, the review will be up on the British Rowing website at about 8am tomorrow (Saturday 24th)
You know you can talk about others it doesn’t have to be just about the British, it is an international forum. It would be nice if we encouraged everyone.
Excellent Mens Olympic Road Race in what appeared to be pretty tough conditions.

Shows what living at 3000m on the slopes of a volcano can do for you…
Nice to see jazz pianist Hiromi featured in the Opening Ceremony !
The youngest participant in the Olympics, the 12 years old TT player, Hend Zaza representing Syria, was eliminated in the first round today.
