252 SCdr + 300dr
Unitiserve 2Tb, ND5-XS2, Ndac + XPSdr
Ovator S600 + 6m nacA5
I would like to use the Ovator in the home Theatre system and to do this I need a passive switch to select the power amp in use.
When I’m not listening to the sound system, I leave the 252 on all the time and the nap 300 too.
I ordered the Dodocus US3-WBT passive switch. and I would use an additional pair of 2.5m nacA5.
I would like advice on the positioning of the passive switch, is it better to connect the 2.5m or 6m of naim cable first?
Without knowing more about your system, it is hard to say anything helpful. If you have not realized this previously, the Naim NAC 252 has a special input which can be programmed for unity gain use, which is intended for users who use both a Naim stereo and some form of surround sound system. This is not always intuitive, but when wired correctly, and used as intended by Naim, you would be able to use your NAP 300 amp for both music and theater.
Thank you for your answer. The solution you propose is the first one I used but unfortunately the high input sensitivity of the nap300 or the 252 is not compatible with the high output voltage of my Krell HTS7.1 preamplifier.
The overwhelming dynamics of the Krell are reduced by the naim, the system is not saturated but the sound is compressed. I also tried to connect the two preamps in cascade without using the AV bypass input on the 252; The situation improves a little but does not reach the quality I get with the two separate systems.
