The Live at The Barbican is available for pre order on CD but not yet vinyl called an
Orchestrated Songbook.

I watched this last night and really wanted to enjoy it, but it just didn’t spin my wheels.

It must be very challenging performing live in front of basically no one, and the social distancing looks awkward as well. The covid rules (needed as they are of course) have stripped away the basic human interactions that are a big part of live performance.

Hopefully it’s not long before we see the return of normal on-stage interaction and audiences.

Me too and the guest singers didn’t really bring anything.

I was disappointed with Boy George’s vocals, he can sing much better than that.

I agree it was all a bit lifeless, for obvious reasons, but there were some great Paul Weller vocals and interesting arrangements.

Not something I’d want to play/watch again many times, though.

I thought the same thing I was expecting his slot to be a highlight.

Great picture! He is one of those artists standing the test of time and becoming a Classic. Lovely guy!

I find the buttons on that jacket amusing

Well, in the absence of or rather self enforced exile of Morrissey, PW has assumed the weary mantle of “national treasure” for the indie generation.

Fortunately, Paul isn’t likely to soil his undergarments as Moz has done, and moreover, will continue to make great music.

Paul is rereleasing his 2010 No 1, critically acclaimed LP Wake Up The Nation. As a part of the 10th anniversary of it’s release that saw a remastered CD released last year the remastered LP is now to be released on vinyl.

Remastered by Jan ‘Stan’ Kybert and Paul himself, “Wake Up The Nation” includes the hit singles – No Tears to Cry, Wake Up the Nation, Find the Torch Burn the Plans, & Fast Car/Slow Traffic.

About the remastered edition Paul says: “I was never happy with the mix on Wake Up the Nation, so when someone pointed out that it had been 10 years since it’s been out I thought it was a good opportunity to try a re-mix on it. I liked the chaos and intensity of the original but I could hear how much you couldn’t hear in it. I think the new mix reveals lots more parts that you didn’t hear in the original while still keeping the energy.”
