Looks like a rescue greyhound to me.
Latest addition into our homeâŚ
Introducing our Bark-a-tron 3000 mkII . AKA âDoraâ, the Fox Red Labrador.
Picture taken this Sunday morning, at 11 weeks old.
Image : The promise of a treat may have influenced this well behaved âSitâ and pose
Also, yes, she needs to grow into that collar.
Dora, is a gift âŚ
Dora is a female name of Greek origin, being a shortened form or derived from Dorothea or Dorothy and Theodora meaning âgiftâ or in its full form âgodâs giftâ, from δ῜Ďον, doron , âgiftâ + θξĎĎ, theos , âgodâ. The name Dora can also be a short form of Isidora.
Born end of November 2024, she came to us as a gift at 8 weeks old. Sheâs approaching 11 weeks now. So only one more week before we can take her beyond the house & garden and mix with other dogs. ( Consequence of normal puppy vaccinations at 8 and 10 weeks ). Just in the two or three weeks sheâs been with us, sheâs grown at a rapid rate, doubling weight from 7kg to 13kg
My best mate ( my wife) and myself really canât wait to get out into the countryside for long walks and fresh air. ( Beer
might be involved, with maybe the odd pub visit too). Weâve missed all that.
Having loved ( or is it endured, LOL
) three Hungarian Vizslas, ( crazy busy dogs), over many years, weâve already established differences with this other âworking dogâ breed. Dora is so much more relaxed and bide-able. Much easier with training, sheâs already got âSitâ, âComeâ, Downâ, âWaitâ. We suspect the Labradors typical affection for food and treats has its merits here. Working on âGive Pawâ is a work in progress and so much fun.
Just like all puppies, she is full on for about an hour, with no off button. Then, has to power nap and recharge her batteries. So far, weâve managed to avoid any damage around the house. Trick is, to keep her mind occupied and prevent the chewing. Training continues.
Just listening to Maribou State â Portraitsâ, (2015). Dora approves.
Happy listening on a Sunday

I started this thread back in 2019 when Poppy was a pup, here she is now in front of the SBL, Ziggy, her wild brother is on the right.
@HiFiman
Crikey. Remember that like it was yesterdayâŚ
Where does the time go ![]()
Lovely dogs and thanks for the reminder.

They soon grow up, and time does appear to fly by. Poppy is now six, Ziggy is four. Same mum so half brother / sister.
Dora is a little cutie, lovely coat ![]()
2019!!! No way⌠Iâm sure it was last yearâŚ.
This is Alfie who is 16 weeks old, a fox red labrador, and 10 kilos. Heâs our daughterâs dog but he comes to visit us quite a lotâŚ
Here he is on Friday with Poppy, our âborrow my doggieâ scheme black lab who we walk every weekday morning for a couple of hours. And thatâs me pretending that they have to sit nicely before they get a treat!
As there is no Naim in the picture, itâs obviously off topic, but I can claim truthfully that I was thinking about doing the 4.9 firmware upgrade on my four legacy streamers on that morningâs walk!
That is probably the cutest thing Iâve ever seen on this thread! ![]()

I completely agree ![]()
Pip had her treats (as did Margot) at Dreamie Oâclock, which means that it Beer (or Wine) Oâclock for the uprights. Currently enjoying the Danish String Quartet. My stinking cold is a serious downgrade to SQ.
Nice, looks warm and inviting ![]()
I am âfetchedâ for Dreamies dispensing every morning and evening. Coralee is usually the leader - miaows, head butts, leg climbing, etc etc!
