Byron Wallen’s Four Corners featuring the very excellent Rob Luft at Hastings Jazz. Sounded fabulous but, tbf, I didn’t measure any of it so could be wrong :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

How do you measure the emotional connection that you get with music played on a great system. Much of what we experience when listening to music happens in the brain, I don’t know of anyone who can measure that yet. That’s why I prefer to use my god given senses to determine if something is better in my system.

The emotional connection comes with the final ‘use your own ears’ part of the assessment. However, as I already stated, I find it far far quicker to hit the bullseye on the emotional engagement, by first getting the measurements correct.

For me the measurements based approach simply avoids the time wasting ‘random walk in the park’.
Others, of course, may enjoy the discovery involved in such walks.

PS: I think if you search certain scientific research papers, there are means by which emotional response is beginning to be accurately and consistently measured. Of course, such research might possibly take the fun out of listening to music.

Listening position was a seat at Anfield last night watching Broooce and special guest

The LP I have owned the longest in my record collection is a battered copy of Born to Run and this is the first time I have seen him live, so it was a special evening for me. Macca was a nice bonus

Mrs Q and I polished off a bottle of wine in fairly short order this evening, so staying away from the very unforgiving vinyl spinner. Thankfully I have a fabulous DSM😊

How was it, were they good?

Wow - still in business. Never saw them live.

They are good. Outdoor - not excellent sound. They play very much of it live, mote than I remember from last time I saw them (about 10 years ago).

Yes. They have bern touring every year since many, many years ago. Don’t come to Sweden that often, unfortunately.

Perfect - never have seen them live. Or have I? In 1990 with the mix - don’t remember if I have been there? they do come more often to Hamburg.

Spectacular concert from my listening position on Thursday Beyonce Cowboy Carter tour at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
