Apologies - you are right, so an implied budget of over £8k.
You may be right.
An Atom HE with Nap 250 dr would be still very good and much cheaper.
But does the Atom HE take the Cd5xs, the Dad present source?
The problem can be solved easily and inexpensively.
If your father has a computer, then he only needs a Toslink cable between computer and SN 1.
And he can already stream.
If he likes it, he can upgrade.
This is actually a very good solution to start with streaming.
I would not spend more money at the moment on an amplifier. I really appreciated the honesty of Naim and our moderator @Richard.Dane who around 15 years told me over and over again, source first. The thing is Naim started making amplifiers first.
Over the years I have been lucky to listen to a very wide range of digital and analogue sources, they all sound different in their own special way (and especially the digital ones).
Please get the Supernait 1 serviced, that is all it needs. It is quite a capable amplifier. (I have some guests at home and I can’t enjoy my usual Naim systems so I am using a Wiim mini streamer into a Chord Mojo 1, into a Bose S1 outdoor speaker, and it is really musical and enjoyable).
For Streaming, an NDX2 (if funds allow) : is what I would buy, and just enjoy the music with the constraints of keeping it all Naim
For now to start streaming I would get a Wiim Pro plus with optical output into the Supernait 1. I use one every day, despite all the audio snobbery (it has a wall wart PSU, no aluminum case), I think it is a great product to start streaming. I use them every day I listen to music
I had a Supernait 1 and loved it, even more when I added a HiCapnDR on release around 2012. Using the Supernait should leave plenty in the budget for a great front end. I’d imagine a great sound with those Spendors.
Definitely agree about the WiiM, my pro plus is outstanding value and sounds incredible into my Supernait, no intention to spend x 15 as much on a fancy case!
Those are great speakers- the pe will drive them. The regular nova will drive them. However, id simply go listen. Ive not listened to the pe yet. Another consideration could be an atom he with a 250 amp. I have tried my he with a 250 and its not quite sn3/ndx2 it is better than a nova. By a whisker or two. Id be very curious about pe.
Id go source first. I missed that u had a supernait 1. Keep that. Try an ndx2 id bet there is some magic to be had. Its a great streamer/dac. If u want to add an amp there are some great deals to be had on 250dr.
I recently added a 282 to my supernait 3 the upgrade is astonishing. I would keep the supernait 1 and upgrade the pre amp. The supernait is very good in power amp mode
Hello all, thought I should update you. My dad has decided to move away from Naim. Sacrilege, I know; he’s spent my whole life acting like the company is the greatest thing of all time, but he’s unhappy he can’t get a new, uniform CD player and is uncertain about the French connection.
He’s fallen in love with the new Cyrus 40 series. So, he will be looking to trade everything in to get all four boxes of the new Cyrus 40 series to power his D7.2s.
Again, thank you to everyone for your responses.
Chacun a son gout.
Good luck to him and to you in this - I hope it all works out briliantly.
Good luck. They do look good.
In fact the classic phono and power supply is on my list
It’s too late Pnuema. You opened this thread and we involved ourselves during many hours on your case.
Your dad has to buy Naim, or we will be obliged to launch judicial proceedings

Surely with your upside down justice system, the tower of london will have room for him.
Don’t believe everything you read in social media!
That’s a good outcome. He has made his own decision rather than be influenced by a forum. More power to his elbow and I hope he gets many years of pleasure from his new system.
Roger
He he. Good decision. Some of it’s even made in Slovakia
. Best stick with a British brand.
And a lot of the metal in the casings was mined in Australia: it’s a scandal!
How very dare he……![]()
