Those are all anechoic manufacturer measurements. They mean little as to how the speaker behaves in real room environments with differing amplification etc nor do they tell you port/TL tuning etc.

For what it’s worth, I thought the bass on the Prophecy was much more solid and less boomy than the 26i. Neither went below about 35hz though.
But they standarize the test environment and allow us to make comparisons between speakers.
I’m sure I read that the prophecy range were tested differently. Might have been Ed Selly’s review
Are you looking at Twenty (20) 26is?
The current model is Twenty Five (5) 26i’s at roughly £10k
The Prophecy 5 is approximately £4.5k
So I’d really hope that the 26i’s would sound better as they are twice the price
The Twenty5s are only available as active now I think, so it’s not a like for like.

I thought the active module was only for the two-ways in the twenty5i range. Does that mean PMC now have an active modulef for the top models which are three-ways?

Paid less than £2500 for my new/boxed Twenty5 24i in late November. There are deals out there, especially of big bulky boxes. Dealers need the space to stock new speakers.
I would urge you to listen again to some ATC’s within your budget 30hertz
I had a few home demos of speakers from my lovely local dealer and decided I couldn’t live without the ATC sound signature as it is so captivating once you have time to tune into it
Probably because the line tuning (it is not port tuning) is of no relevance, the response being what matters.
As for in-room performance, the one that goes lower in an anechoic chamber, if that is where it is tested, will be the one that goes lower in-room (if same room and positioning).
On another thread some member claimed that PMC said the values quoted for TwentyX ranges was at the end of the low frequency roll-off whereas for the new ranges it is the start and that actually the new range goes lower.
Second hand unverified information though.
To me, purely visually, the TwentyX ranges look like more expensive speakers. I’m surprised that their own developed G-weave LF units only survived for one range though.

Always surprised that the Twenty5 stand mounts used the same stands as the Twenty series. Yet at the same time making a big noise ( in the instruction manual at least) about the benefits of the move to stainless bars on the 23/24/26 models.
Interesting choices, all look very capable speakers, prefer the PMC’s for looks though.
