Reviving this thread to provide a quick update. While I was working on options for the P8 a really good deal on a used HiCap DR came up and I grabbed it. It sets me back a bit on the TT but I’m excited to see what the HiCap brings to my system. It took me a couple weeks to organize but I should have it this Wednesday and I’ll be sure to share my thoughts.

I received my HiCap DR on Tuesday and quite honestly, I can’t get enough of it. It is not a subtle change to the Supernait 2. My system immediately sounded more open, dynamic and precise. Simply awesome.
This has only further fuelled my interest in upgrading my P6. It might take me some time but more to come! Thanks for all the support.

Don’t expect that same level of impact when upgrading the P6, which can hold its own very well, being capable of formidable performance. People rave about the P8 because the upgrade is usually accompanied by a better cartridge and phono stage. The P6 is very close to the P8 when compared under the same conditions.

It’s very hard to argue with that.
Of course, jumping straight to say) P10 with Rega Aura or Naim Superline/Hicap or SC, even second hand, is not cheap. That may be just another reason to keep the P6 and spend any spare cash on vinyl.
