For information, I also face the problem of default Internet radio streams being down.
But all radio stations I defined myself through http://naim.vtuner.com/ are still working.
Not yet tried if http://naim.vtuner.com/ is still working

Naim have dropped vTuner, the new Naim (inhouse) Iternet Radio service is up and running for all products, both new/latest streamers and 1st gen (green screen) units.
See the all the many threads on the forum
You need to have latest app and update your Uniti (download update package)
Thanks for the response, but the last time I tried to update my Uniti1, I had to buy a special cable and a driver to link my PC USB port and the serial port of the Uniti.
Something went wrong during the upload, and the wi-fi feature is broken since that time: I will not try it a 2nd time.
Is there a way to manually enter the URL of the music stream somewhere in the Uniti? I am geek enough to find the wanted URL by inspecting the source page of the webradio in my browser.
Sorry for your previous experience.
You have the cable, not sure why you had to buy a driver as a cable driver link has always been included in the instructions .PDF.
If you are geek enough to go play with workarounds I don’t unterstand whats stopping you updating your Uniti. Just read and follow the instructions.
Everyone is just getting on with it.
No questions about workarounds, there is no need.
I had to buy a cable, because the serial port on the Uniti was not a standard PC one. And the cable was sold w/ a driver to transfer from the USB to the serial port.
I was indeed geek enough to try updating the software. But since I had then to send it back for repair, since it lasted 3 month, since I got my device more broken back (wi-fi still broken, CD player plug lost), I will not try it twice. Even geeks learn from previous bad experience
Did you send your Uniti to a Naim authorised service centre? If so, they should have returned it in a fully working condition. You should ask them to take it back and correct any defects.
After a service it’s normal for them to install the latest firmware, so if you don’t feel able to attempt this yourself you will avoid the need if you return it to a service agent.
(This is assuming that your Uniti is not a very early model which cannot be updated.)
Yes, of course, I sent it to the Naim center, through my local French reseller (hence the long travelling time). And yes they should have returned it fully working, but did not, although pretending that yes. I gave up (in French we say that one should know when to stop a war), since “only” the wi-fi was out of order.
My device is a Uniti 1, bought at end of 2012. Do not know if it can be updated. Anyway, will not try.
I will rather add a basic network streamer (not a Naim one), with some webradios integrated. This will be cheaper than paying for a journey to England for my device
Hi. Honestly i too was worried about doing my Uniti1 update. I used a PC running Windows 11 and bought (for ÂŁ12) a USB to RS232 cable on Amazon (Ugreen). Installed the supplied driver (on mini CD) and then followed the Naim instructions making sure to use the Zip file for Windows and it worked 1st time.
My AV (norton) did prompt me to ok it which i did. No issued. Iradio Working perfectly all day.
Just make sure to follow the Naim instructions to the Letter (read them twice!)
Good luck
I bought a Bluetooth adapter (Logitech) and connected that to my preamp. Then I paired an Echo dot to the Bluetooth. It’s now very easy to use Alexa to play BBC Sounds such as radio or playback shows such as I’m sorry I haven’t a clue. Unlike Naim radio you can pause or resume too.
Hello everybody,
I finally jumped in the big swimming pool, and updated my software. All went well, apart of the funny mirrored display during the first step of the update.
But now, how do I get the new webradio settings ?
I didn’t see any option in the app, which only displays a list of (no longer working) presets, and an empty list of web radios. The Unity does not display any list of internet radio either.
The app is at version 7.0.3 (on 2 different Android devices), the Uniti is now at 4.9, I on/off powered the Uniti, stopped and restarted the app, rebooted the tablet. Nothing happens.
Any clue? Am I missing something?
Many thanks in advance.
CM
No. The firmware update didn’t bring back iradio for me either
Frist thing: you need the very latest app 7.3.0. (Unless it’s a typo.)
Then delete all previous favorites and presets.
Thank you, I will give that a try tonight (my app is indeed 7.3).
There is possibly conflicting information, but according to Latham audio, the early model naimuniti (without 24/192 streaming board) does not support the new iradio.
For a definitive response contact support@naimaudio.com and include the value displayed in settings under “BC SW” version (first 2 characters is sufficient).
@Richard.Dane maybe next time you speak to Naim you could confirm? There are a few posts now from users with naimuniti and blank iradio.
Arrrgh. Will see that tonight.
That said, my Uniti1 is one of the latest models (the Uniti2 was already in sale when I bought it), and is able to play 24/192.
Otherwise if found a possibly convenient webradio player, located the reseller on Paris’s map, 15 minutes biking from my office …
I asked R&D on Monday, and they said that any Uniti that is on FW 3.0 or higher should be able to update to FW 4.9 for the new IR service.
I’ve just asked for confirmation from them;
If they’re on 4.9, then it must be new enough to run it.
Best solution in this case is to reapply the firmware update just in case of any issues, and ensure a factory reset was performed (as per the installation instructions).
Abstract: nothing works.
Cleared all presets, resetted to factory settings, again cleared presets (factory settings bring their own presets ).
No list of internet radios, either on the device, nor on the app.
Rebooted the device several times, restarted the apps as many times as the device.
And yes, the firmware has also been resetted yesterday (do not remember if there were 2 or 3 separate updates, but at least 2).
Will buy a webradio streamer tomorrow. And, tonight, will try to get my settings back (not too many but, wright or wrong, my settings).
Very disappointed.
Before you go out a buy another box, it’s supposed to work; but it’s now running on naim’s own software so perhaps there is an issue with it - suggest you report to support@naimaudio.com
As Robert suggests, I would have a chat with the Naim support desk if I were you.
