Apologies for delay to replies. Life……
Speakers are I believe a write off. Cosmetics and technical issues make them a challenge. I’m sure worth it for someone with the time, patience and money. I’ll put them in a corner, glare at them every so often, maybe do something….
However.
Finally fired up the Nait 3 with a Bluetooth and Phono source.
HOLY CRAP!
I’m running a pair of Audio Pro Ego 212 passive monitor speakers and it’s, well, just amazing.
The puck for the CD3 hopefully will arrive in about a week so that’s still untried.
Apologies. Just needed to put the HOLY CRAP out there regarding the instant quality of what I’ve heard so far.
Sounds like a growing LP collection is imminent, and fingers crossed for the CD3.
Good listening.
Once again many thanks to everyone who has contributed with such common sense and generosity.
I finally received the puck for the CD3.
It didn’t work! Just constant ERR messages, refused to spin up.
Conversations with Naim and my go to retailer said it’s the CD mech, not replaceable and basically just a doorstop now!
However…… someone somewhere on this august body suggested that the cd platter could have dropped. There was definitely a point of resistance when turning it gently with fingers.
What did I have to lose?
Using my trusty Swiss Army knife, thin and strong blade, I VERY gently put it under the platter and again VERY gently levered up whilst turning the platter.
It came up a mm or so and the resistance vanished.
End result is the bloody thing now works!
Currently listening to some Vangelis and astonished that I got it working……
