Power cables - do they matter?

Cables are a djungle. Powercales perhaps even more so. Do they matter? What should one buy not to spend an arm and a leg?

Assuming the batteries are not rechargeable.

In most cases I’ve only ever used the mains cable supplied with the component. The odd cases are my NAT01 (original cable swapped for Powerline) and Linn Radikal (original cable swapped for a Music Works cable). The MW cable was previously used on my Radikal 2, where the overhang at the rear of the case prevented the use of a Powerline. Do either of these make a difference? I’m not convinced, but I feel better about it all

There has to be a cable from the panel to the battery.

This thread will just go in circles, go to your local dealer, borrow some & see how you make out. I could post a much longer answer but there’s likely no point.

Forum search has all the answers, opinions, and a fair amount of folklore.

A used Powerline if you will connect it to a Naim product.

Not a mains cable if not connected to mains. Maybe a dedicated low voltage solar generator!

Probably less silly than some of the supposedly serious responses to this thread.

A second hand powerline

Look up and watch the GR Research video titled “Audiophile Cable TRUTHS: Power Cords” on Youtube. It is an excellent demonstration of their effects.
