Power Conditioning

Greetings forum. Recently I’ve changed all of my csbles and cords to Synergistic’s Research. I’m also running their Purple Fuses and Pink Duplex. My question; does anyone have any experience running Synergistic Research’s power conditioning?I’m ready to pull the trigger on a Synergistic Research PowerCell SX.

Naim use to say it’s better without power conditioning, unsure about your Country how things work.
The other thing is, (and its fine by me) you’re running Teddy stuff, probably couldn’t really call it a naim system so be pretty hard to give any honest information how things would sound.
Have fun finding out, it’s a expensive rabbit hole and what most people find is they end up at the beginning and wonder why they strayed off path.

Hi.. why don’t you loan one and try out? Whether you like it or not  and decide

It might, depending on what the end user found unacceptable. I do know that the unit only weighs 11lbs and may slide on the shelf due to plugging in the heavy bulky Synergistic Research power cords.

Hello and thanks for the feedback. The unit comes with a thirty day return policy. I’m looking for members that might have direct experience with the product.

Thanks rooster.

Would members please respect forum rules regarding discussion of unauthorised modifications to Naim equipment - specifically here non-Naim power supplies. Thankyou.

Shunyata power conditioners will be fine and certainly won’t harm the baim doubd in any way as they use a different way to filter and not chokes like others do.
They also filter in both directions unlike others, so any noise from each unit can’t gi back down the power cable and then into other boxes, etc

Or you could go for a balanced power supply, no filters at all as they naturally cancel each other out. I use this method and very happy with it, plus it cost about £700 new for a huge 5000 unit. Much cheaper, well about £20000 plus as i was looking at the Shunyata everest and omega main cable.

Dunc, Thank you for the intel on the Shunyata Research power conditioner. I had several Shunyata Research power cords in the past and they performed very well. They were just random power cords not a full loom.

I would buy first a true hicap. The benefits will be higher.

Thanks, I’ll take it under advisement.

I have very strong views on any type of “power conditioner” however much they may cost (can be many many $1000’s). Just DON’T do it, as @Dunc has said, all you need is a balanced power supply and plug everything into it (other than SMPS’s). You don’t even need a dedicated mains supply. Also, as @frenchrooster has said, use proper Naim power supplies plugged into a balanced power supply.

Kitfit1, Thanks for your contribution. For your guidance I do have a 20 amp dedicated circuit powering the system. Synergistic Research prevents component-to-component noise contamination by utilizing proprietary Active Electromagnetic (EM) Cells, EUF Ground Planes, and localized AC biasing. Rather than just acting as a passive filter, the unit functions as an active parallel noise-canceling system.

For even greater isolation, the PowerCell SX features an external grounding port that links directly to a separate [Active Ground Block]grounding/active-ground-block-se/), which acts as a centralized vacuum for any lingering ground-plane noise.

If you can try first at home, why not. But you may encounter a nice, calm, soft sound, but anemic.
If you live in US, try a furutech tp60e poserblock. Very good. Dynamics won’t be restrained. And nicer tones, more details, and more open soundstage. Effortless sound.

French rooster, I’ve have a TP60 in storage so I’m familiar with their sonic signature. However I need more outlets than it provides. In addition I’m attempting to create a full loom of Synergistic Research and the PowerCell SX will check off the boxes. I am in the US and I do have the capacity to purchase the unit with a 30 day return policy.
I before purchasing it I wanted to see if anyone on on the forum has or had any direct experience with the unit or anything like it.

Resist Naim dogma, try it in your system, the truth only lies in what you hear.

If you’re in the US Talk to the guys at The Cable Company. They have all the good stuff!

What does this technical word salad actually mean, and what do these components actually do do? Try and speak with an electronics engineer to discover what this stuff actually does, and find out if it even makes a difference.

One of these high price cable and accessory vendors claims to make certified medical cabling. A forum thread I read elsewhere proved the claim to be patently false.

There is some really weird stuff out there that goes against well established scientific fact.

Agree, excellent dealer, they also carry Chang Lightspeed conditioners which also filter electromagnetically without using chokes.
