Powerblocks Chord/Atlas

Hello,

do these powerblocks from Chord Powerhaus S6 or Atlas Eos 4.0 bring a decent improvement for the expensive price?

I’m very skeptical about them, as I tried an Isotek Polaris a long time ago and didn’t like the sound at all afterwards.

I’ve owned the Atlas (the non filtered version) and had the S6 on extended demo. Both not cheap for sure but if you come across a used Atlas (can be found quite cheaper) I would recommend it over the S6 (my Atlas was x4 though so less outlets). No experience with the filtered Atlas.

I have never thought of any cord or power supply as making an improvement , rather the better quality interconnects and power supplies help prevent degradation of the signal or power

I am delighted with Isotek but I use the Elektra and will be switching to the Isotek Signa. I also use their power cords. These products cost more than the one you tried.

You’re right to be sceptical, so many factors can change the effects of this stuff, the quality of the incoming power, your property wiring, wall socket quality and condition, equipments sonic capability …
… I advise try before you buy.

Most of my wires are DIY including power-blocks, that way I select the wire quality and size, the plug and socket brands and how its wired.

The Isotek power strip made the whole system sound very sterile. A clear deterioration compared to an unfiltered power strip.

I‘ve got the Chord M6 and I‘m very satisfied with its performance.
I went to a demo at a hifi show and I could hear a difference between the 3 Chord blocks. P, S and M.
I‘ve got everything plugged in including my switch.
