Just remember we all hear differently and I’m certainly not disputing Gary’s view, but just remember that it is just that, his opinion.
Whilst the P3 is certainly a great turntable I’m sure there’s many 6/8/10 owners who feel the opposite.
As usual, you can be guided by forum comments but ultimately you need to listen to the differences yourself to decide
Everything i write is of course my view from personal experience, and quite obviously not gospel for someone else. I think it’s a given that anyone who offers an opinion on here is doing exactly that…. just an opinion.
Here’s where for me where in the Rega range it gets a bit sticky. I would say that i’ve enjoyed the P6, but not necessarily any more so than the P3. Where things take a step back really start at the P8/P10, and originally the P7/P9.
Do the new Rega MM carts (ND3, ND5, ND7) pair well with Stagelines? I know the old MM carts were not a great match. A quick search didn’t turn up anything.
There is a fairly new Stageline N for sale at a great price locally. It would be very convenient to run that off my 52.
I received the P6, not much aesthetic change compared to the P3, on the other hand in terms of sound we gain in openness and details without the sound becoming aggressive, on the contrary it seems that there is more presence … it seems that there is less bass but it is less muddy, it modulates better when it is necessary there is…
I specify that both are equipped in the same way, only the turntable changes.
So the P3 is a very good turntable for its price, but the p6 is better, the hierarchy is respected!
