Ok, I’m a little late to the party but found a Prefix and am looking forward to getting it into the system. What I don’t have is any documentation for proper installation and connection options (into a NAC52 and I have a spare HiCap to use). Any help is much appreciated!
Are there any part or model numbers to assist? I have never heard of a Prefix, living in regional Australia.
Warm regards,
Mitch
@Clissold Hi,congratulations to a fantastic Phono Stage !
Connected directly to Nac 52 input 2 b or via Hicap and a 4 to 5 pin din from Hicap to the Nac 52. You can download fitting instructions here.
I am sorry, this is beyond my field of expertise.
Dear @Clissold this owner may be of help in some way as he has mentioned he owns a Prefix. post below/;
Thanks @KJC! Yeah, I’m very pleased with the changes. I didn’t even audition them to be honest, I just went with them. I trust Peter’s knowledge and opinion as he’s literally tried every possible scenario out and knows what works well and what doesn’t. So, it was just a trip to fit them both. Needless to say, they’ve made a brilliant difference and I’m very happy with the results.
I’m on the waiting list for a serviced Prefix, so there’s still a level to go with the phono stage, too. I’m hoping it gets me somewhere towards a Urika, allowing me to possibly make another change to a better arm/keel before I need to look at phono stage as being the weak link.
Thank you, Richard. With my dexterity, I would be off to a specialist. Great resourcing by the way.
Mitch.
Hi @Gigantor, I’m afraid I don’t own a Prefix… yet. So, apologies I can’t help on this one, I’m afraid.
A wise choice to go to a specialist to fit, though!
Dealer fit is best. I have never been so embarrassed as when Peter @ Cymbiosis asked me who’d installed my Prefix so badly. It had been me working from the floor with the LP12 gingerly balanced on two coffee tables. I’d followed the instructions sent me by Julian, and thought I’d done a half decent job! It’s never sounded better since Peter’s remedial input!
Brilliant @Loki ![]()
Yeah, probably why I’d never trust myself with anything! Saying that, I did swap my mat out for a Collaro one… managed that one all on my own! ![]()
Many Thanks, Richard!
Thank you! Yes, I saw that but I have been unable to log on to that site for some time. Cheers.
