Does a prefix K give a noticeable upgrade for internal phono boards
Will I then need a line level input if I stay with my 32. 5 or move up the ladder say 82 / 5

Absolutely brilliant upgrade. 32.5 worked for me for some 15 years until very recent 282. The 32.5 is much underrated. Simplicity is key.
I recently upgraded to a full Naimed LP12, Prefix being part of it and I experienced a N times better sound than my previous Ittok/Valhalla/32.5 internal board, with the same cart
Of course I couldn’t clearly which part contributes to what, but it becomes very bodied, weighty, earthy and fast response/perfect timing after I managed to fix the Prefix’s tonearm grounding lead.
But an ex-owner I doubt a 32.5 could tell you all that, worths upgrade to at least 82/250 or 52/135 before a Prefix imho.
@millsandboon Yes a Prefix is a big upgrade,well worth it on a 32.5.
You do need a Hicap and a 4-5 pin Din lead.
If you have the deck to accommodate then a Prefix is most worthwhile over the internal boards. You will, of course, need to power the Prefix, so an extra HICAP would be required with the NAC32.5, or just head to a NAC52 which can offer a dedicated powered AUX2 input for the Prefix.
Thank you for your time
Hopefully see you on the factory visit
I would say that it would. I had often thought about a Prefix or suitable alternative, though my dealer suggested that I would have to pay quite a bit to better the boards in my 32.5. I have a DV20X2L cartridge so in the end I got a very nice used DV P75 mkIII to compliment it and oooh my what an excellent improvement! However I cannot offer you any advice as to how the P75 compares to the Prefix.
