From the Beeb. Facts are facts.

“Erik Ten Hag won more trophies in his two years at Man U than Arteta has in his 5 at Arsenal.”

ARTETA IN !!!

Again from the Beeb…

“Absolutely can’t stand Arteta’s delusion. It sounds like he is lying to himself and the fans to make them feel better about what was a severely underwhelming two performances. The first leg in particular was really poor from both the players and the fans at the stadium. You need to have something to take into the second leg and Arsenal never really gave it a proper go. Arsenal as a club are not built for the big time.”

And finally, from a wise chap called ‘Mat’ on the Beeb site…

"Arsenal turned up at a CL semi final and played like Stoke City under Pulis. "

Gotta laugh. But, he has a point. Relying on Partey long throws and also just lumping it high into the area at every opportunity, hoping that they have got a reincarnation of Crouchie in their side, is really not good enough for the Champions League. It’s a sign of desperation.

With Arsenal playing Liverpool this weekend and Man City on form it looks like they could well end up challenging them for 2nd place in the league. Arsenal would need to lose to Liverpool and drop points elsewhere as they have a far superior goal difference, but I could see it happen. I would really feel for them if that was the outcome of their season though…similar with Forest if they fail to clinch a top 5 spot.

That’s probably a better description than “gilt-edged chances”!

I only saw the highlights, but it looked like a good cup tie. Lots of action.

I think Arsenal have targeted Champions League and Europe, Eric Ten Hag was very wise to target those and tonight when Man Utd play in Europe it will be thanks to his efforts .

Man Utd are very much like Spurs, big club, sack a good manager before he can start to rebuild.

Arteta’s problem is that Arsenal consistently fall short against City and Liverpool .

Ian, you’re right.

And just to prove it, just watch us sack another one soon

(Though whether our current incumbant can be described as ‘good’ is open to opinion).

Gotta love Ange’s ‘Even if we are down to six or seven, we’ll still give it a go, mate.’

I really like him. My view is judge him next season when they will hopefully have a lot less injuries.

3rd or 2nd makes absolutely no difference to us CL qualification is what is important.

Declan the Rice pudding left European cup winners West Ham United for “big club” Arsenal in search of more silverware.

Almost two years later “Deccy” still just has the one cup, the one he won with “small” club WHU…

In my view Saints are / should be a regular Premiership team , but getting up and then establishing yourself is an incredibly tricky job, one that Brentford , Bournemouth and Brighton have done
