Premier League 2024-2025

I would have been happy for Potter to be given a chance at St Mary’s, acknowledging that this season is a “write off” (OTOH we’ll take the money and run).

At least Potter has some experience of what it takes to live in the Prem. But the folks in charge have gone for another “unknown quantity”.

With apologies to anyone under sixty who contributes to this thread, Red Adair needed at Saints.

Pulled a performance out of the bag there, Spurs. Nice to see a game where both sides attack. Spurs bad luck with injuries continues with a real bad one for Bentancur. Hope it’s not as bad as it looked. Liverpool fading a bit as the season wears on, maybe?

My missus says Bergvall is far too cute to get a red card, so Slot can bugger off…

And you don’t want to get on the wrong side of MY missus

Thought he was maybe unlucky with the yellow but really lucky with the second tackle which was far worse than the first. In the end Liverpool didn’t defend well for the goal & that’s what did for them.

Perhaps because the left back was missing, having received treatment for the foul by … the guy who scored the goal!

So that excuses Solanke out muscling the CB & the feeble attempt by the Liverpool captain to prevent the ball reaching the goal scorer? Every team in every league has to cope with the 30 second enforced absence following medical attention. Liverpool didn’t cope (were naive).

No, the defending was pitiful. But Bergvall should not have been on the pitch.

There’s a detailed explanation on the BBC Sport website explaining why the ref was right not to book & dismiss.

Oh, the BBC, that must be right then! The referee effectively got the bookings the wrong way round. Bottled it.

Tbf, if he got them the wrong way round (which you’ll see I suggested earlier in the thread) he ended up with the correct result. I’d have to read it again but I think the BBC explanation was provided by a ref rather than Jim in row Z on the Kop. I don’t profess to fully understand the rules - that’s fine cos the ex players never do - so who knows. Fact remains Liverpool had a situation to defend and didn’t. All else is excuses.

Taxi for Mr Dyche! (Perhaps he can share one with Mr Edwards)

Like several other clubs, I think the problem with Everton lies way above the manager , look how stable Newcastle are today compared with the Mike Ashley era, or Man City with the 115 charges or Man Utd with the new part owner .

Shambles.

What so they expect? Notts Forest?

Anyway the club disagrees and Mr Dyche is now probably planning his appointment at the Job Centre

In Luton.

The immediate problem Everton have is no half decent skilful midfielder or forward is willing to sign for Everton while Dyche is manager. Apparently somebody has just turned down Everton and will be joining Ipswich.

They have three decent strikers, none are scoring because they are spending 90% of the game running around the centre circle, when they do get forward they are not getting any quality balls.

Have Everton waited to sack Dyche for Rooney to become available? Given the way the Everton hierarchy have acted, I think they deserve ‘Shrek’.

I understand it may be more than 115 charges
