I’m astonished. It’s so out of character for the Donald to pull a publicity stunt like that.

The Arsenal finally get an out and out striker Victor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon the 27 year old Swedish No 9 scored 97 goals in 102 games during the two years he spent in Portugal.

Also an agreement to sign Noni Madueke from Chelsea has been reached that on the face of it may seem expensive but if him covering for Bukayo Saka on the right wing means we avoid a repeat of Saka’s injury/burn out of last season and he can also offer cover/competition for Martinelli on the left then he will be worth every penny.

And Christian Mosquera the Spanish U21 right sided CB has revealed on social media that he is leaving Valencia for Arsenal, he will be a direct replacement for the excellent yet injury prone Takihiro Tomiyasu as cover for both William Saliba and Ben White/Jurrien Timber at right back. The young defender is also seen as a long term replacement for Saliba should Real Madrid eventually get their sticky fingers on him.

Also signed as a replacement this time in midfield for Jorginho who has returned to Brasil is Brentford captain Christian Nørgaard the 31 year old defensive midfielder offers excellent squad depth and can fill in for bth Zubimendi and Rice.

Finally another player from Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga still the worlds most expensive goalkeeper was a steal at £5 million and offers cover for David Raya. So far our signings show that we are determined not to let a lack of strength in depth derail our season as it did last year and so far only the signing of Gyokeres and Zubimendi pushes our first 11 forward.

The heavy rumours of a return to Arsenal for Eberechi Eze should they be true would be a real needle mover and would really elevate us the number 10 shirt is waiting. The icing on the cake would be a new left winger rumours of Leandro Trossard leaving could be a sign this might happen.

Kepa is now a far better keeper than when we bought him. Bargain.

Meanwhile at SW6… Fulham have signed…

No one at all.

They did this last minute signing stuff last season and it left the team lacking options.

If this is Tony Kahn’s doing, then I see Fulham losing Marco. Great manager not permitted to try to get the players he wants. Kahn is still happy to charge over 3k though for Riverside STs.

Still…wait and see eh?

Some easy pickings from the other side of SW6 at the moment, suggest they send an email.

Not looking forward to this season! As a Man Utd lifetime supporter I feel that this year if we avoid relegation I will treat that as a win. There is such a mess at the club and I really believe we don’t have a manager who will be able to succeed. Not a big enough personality, too rigid to be able to get the best out of the players. Hopefully I am proved wrong.
Tim.

And down in Sarf London…

@Timbo At UTD (like Spurs) the rot starts at the top and works it’s way down

Now sold our best keeper to Bournemouth. After 2nd best to Arsenal.

Petrovic was a big improvement for us in 2nd half of 23/24 season over previous efforts. He had 2nd best stats in French league for 24/25.

What is it they see in Sanchez? Who had much the worst Prem stats in 24/25.

He made a couple of cracking saves in the Club World Cup final but he always seems like an accident waiting to happen to me. I’m not sure who else you have in the Goalkeeper department but I would probably have kept Petrovic based on the Stats the BBC posted.

There’s a league table for everything these days it seems🤷‍♂️

Probably a Sky Award for it.
Hey, @keanoking , congratulations
