Hi all,

I can’t comment on Linn’s implementation, but great that other manufacturers are bringing Presto as a serious service for those with good quality kit, :+1:. Chris (CEO), Greg and the whole team at Presto are a nice lot and are totally into what they do. No soulless corporate world domination plans.

When at Naim we reviewed the business case we also reviewed existing implementations. The key issues were:

  • Cheap integration into apps that are primarily pop centric artist/album/track based, This really doesn’t work on a classical database.
  • -Presto has fantastic metadata and on all the implementations we reviewed this was lost or a bit messed up.

So we worked with Presto and came up with a LAN centric connect model so their app gained knowledge of Naim products and works natively with them. That gives best of both worlds of user experience ans also sound quality as they use the Naim tuned and heavily buffered playqueue system.

We’re rolling out Presto across the full range of current products and Presto have a free trial period for Naim customers. If classicsl, jazz or blues is your thing then suggest take a look.

Presto now up and running on my Linn Selekt. Can’t get it yet on my Naim boxes as I don’t have any NC gear, but my understanding is that Naim’s implementation is a Connect type setup using the Presto app, whereas Linn’s uses their own app. Personally, I’d prefer the Naim way as the Presto app is very good.

Exciting times for classical and jazz enthusiasts!
