Hi, I just purchased some Pro-Ject Wash it Vinyl cleaning fluid (this is the concentrated solution that requires dilution with distilled water). Odd thing is that it is really milky looking, whereas I purchased some several years ago and it was pretty clear. Retailer has checked and their entire supply is milky looking. Just wondered if others had encountered this issue and what could be the cause? Not sure if the Wash it 2 (the already pre-mixed version) appears clear or milky but would be interested to here.
My previous concentrate was clear and my current premixed is clear.
Haven’t bought concentrate for a few years now though. They may have changed the formula🤷🏻♂️
I have some concentrate somewhere - a few years old though. I’ll take a look and let you know.
Just checked and it’s definitely not milky. Maybe they have changed the formulation? Best email Pro-Ject to find out for sure.
My Pro-Ject fluid was bought about 4 years ago. It is still clear. Stored in a dark place.
Definitely milky here. Bought around 2 years ago
I would clean an old LP first to make sure it does not leave a milky residue on the surface.
I assume it has some IPA in it. IPA reacts with UV light and turns milky
I believe that Pro-ject’s cleaning fluid is IPA free, at least it used to be…
Yep, just checked and is still Alcohol Free👍🏼
Either way, I suspect the Naim forum isn’t the logical place to ask about Pro-Ject cleaning fluid.
Maybe contact their support desk and ask why it is milky and if it can be used?
I always wash my records once with their fluid and then again but only using distilled water as a sort of rinse cycle.
