Since yesterday I have been having problems with the Naim App, both on Uniti Nova and Mu-so 2nd generation. From Tidal the music does not start, then when it starts after a few seconds it stops, then starts again and stops again. The radio has the same problem, it does not start and when it starts playing then it stops. My WiFi works fine, today I worked on it all day. Even with AirPlay everything works fine.
Issues like this put me off from going streaming. It never seems to be simple, well, at least to my aging mind. As much as I would like to purchase an ND5XS2 or NDX2, I am stuck playing expensive LPs and CDs.
I am sorry I can not help Tony. I wish you the best, and hopefully, someone will pop in and help you with your issue. It sounds like a buffering issue. What could be causing that? I have no idea.
Have a nice day.

Start with a reboot of your router plus any switches.
It is and can be simple.
There is a large range of manufacturers making streamers from low cost to high cost.
Search the forum for Wiim or BlueSound, both get good write-ups with good feedback on their apps.
Linn make an excellent range at different price levels and work well with Naim.
You can also get a BlueTooth adapter and stream via this using your iPhone / iPad or similar, these are even cheaper.
I started with this one which worked well, then sold it onto a friend.
He used it for while, then sold it on and got this one.
Perhaps start off getting a used one from eBay or similar to see if you like it, which would reduce the financial risk if you didn’t like it.

It’s worth remembering that there’s more than one kind of "streaming”. Many years ago I rippped all my classical music CDs, put the files on a NAS, bought a Nova and happily played music like that (without the minor hassle of having to get up and change CDs from time to time—particularly when listening to something like an opera!). I did not, and still do not, subscribe to any streaming "service”.
I added to my music collection over the years by buying music downloads and still much prefer streaming my music from a local server to listening to CDs. Of course, things moved on during that time—via a Roon lifetime licence and a Roon Nucleus (when the NAS ultimately failed) but the pleasure is still very much the same.
Of course, the technical side of what I call "local streaming” may have its challenges in the initial setup but it’s bliss once it’s working and is (to my mind) really worthwhile.

Already done
I gave away all my LPs not long after CDs came on the scene and have not felt any inclination to return to vinyl as it seems to me so much more complicated and potentially troublesome than streaming. Connect your streamer to the internet via cable or wireless, take out a subscription to Qobuz or Tidal and away you go.
I occasionally take a peek at some of the vinyl threads in HiFi Corner and marvel at the discussions on all the bits and bobs of associated electronics, arms, cartridges, belts, mats, cleaning machines, quality of discs etc. As a simple soul, I just want to choose my music and listen to it in the best quality I can afford. Streaming does that for me.

It works fine now, apparently it was a temporary problem with the Naiim App.
Remember, for every poster having an issue there are hundreds or thousands having no issue.
Since we got our NDX2 we’ve never had any streaming issues. Basic network of ISP router (plus sometimes a switch) and devices either cabled or on WiFi.
We currently have two naim devices - NDX2 cabled, SuperUniti WiFi. The WiFi device sometimes isn’t discovered by the app, but that’s a gen1 firmware/device issue on the SuperUniti, not a network issue. And we rarely use the naim app anyway, Tidal Connect is main interface to lounge system and in office it’s mainly internet radio via remote control (presets/saved stations).
Streaming is very convenient - just go for it. Add a cheap streamer to try it out, or ND5XS2 to keep it all naim.
