When I switch on mu Muso-2 (bought May 24) the LED is white, I see de Muso in the app, but it does not respond to anything. Then the LED starts flashing yellow ending in stable purple. Then the muso goes off. When switching it on again it is purple again and after a while white again, after which the muso can (finally) be used and also works without problems.
Wired or wifi does not matter. Router is 2 meters from the muso and signal is fine. I have already performed several resets also of the route, but the problem has actually become worse, because until recently it started up several times without problems, now usually not.
Does anyone recognize this problem?
Naim will recommend following the guidance here: Network Troubleshooting | Naim Audio
Also take note of the section marked “ 5. A word about Mu-so & Qb…”
Do you keep it switched on all the time? Or are you switching off at the wall? If the latter, it will need to rediscover the network every time.
Thank you for your response Robert.
I always use the standby function to switch off.
I don’t know much about it, but if it starts up well one time and the next time the mentioned problem occurs, could it be a network problem? Also because it also happens when the muso is connected via ethernet. Could it also be a fault in the muso?
At the moment there is only a simple network: Modem/router without mesh and Iphone and muso both on 5 GHz network.
I understand that this is difficult to judge from a distance, but I have already tried so much without any result. I am not familiar with these technical matters, so it is difficult to investigate this further.
I would check the router control panel, see if the muso is listed on the network when it apparently disappears.
Also there’s an app called “fing” that reports on your network (though it doesn’t report correctly for my network which is always rock solid, though fing would suggest otherwise).
Muso remains visible on the router control panel, if it does not start properly. Muso is also visible in Fing without further issues. Network signal is very strong.
This morning it started again without further delay, so it remains unclear to me what the problem is.
Given these problems, and especially as it’s only six months old, I’d speak to the supplying dealer and ask for a replacement. It should just work, first time every time.
That’s slowly becoming my thought too. I suspect there is something wrong with this Muso. Anything else seems out of the question.
I sent the Muso to the seller for possible repair, but to at least rule out that there is something wrong with the unit.
When I read the many topics on the forum, I sometimes think that you have to be a technician to make a Muso work properly.
Perhaps I am missing something, that someone with more knowledge of networks etc. can fix these kinds of issues.
I have worked with multiple streaming platforms, but never problems like this.
