Purple Heart

Just a shout out to the person who recommended Chris Allman recently as a great person to send your damaged cartridges to (pretty sure it was in Hifi Corner). Long and short, accidentally busted my Kiseki Purple Heart a few years ago and jumped through many many hoops via the Australian importer (Magenta Audio) and even to the company owner Herman Dan Den Dungen who explicitly said they were impossible to repair…some blah blah about parts and the supplier going broke. Got in touch with Chris who said send it to him (about a week ago)…cartridge now repaired, it still worked but the cantilever was twisted (my fault). He painstakingly got it back in shape but at the same time noticed the diamond was also off centre which he also rectified (he said it had to be a QC issue at manufacture which made sense as I could never get the set up right). I’d highly recommend him…he’ll do Koetsu and that’s what prompted me to contact him…figured if he did then he’d have a crack at my Kiseki. He’s going to test it for a few more days but says it’s sounding great and channel separation is perfect. Happy days, can’t wait to get it back.

A blast from the past. I remember my Kiseki fondly from a LONG time ago. I just moved to a series 300 with new Naim phono stage. How do you like your series 300? Love mine.

Loving the 300 series…the 2*350 monos paired with the 332/300psu are sublime. I’m using a Winfeld Ti cart now but figure the PH can be a back up now it’s fixed. Just had my Superline/supercap serviced and recapped and sounding brilliant so stayed with that combo rather than look at the new Naim phono pre.

The NVC TT powered by the 8 PIN DIN is my first phono pre. This will allow me to move to Rega MC when my exact wears out. I am also using the 333 as my streamer.

I’ve got a purple heart as well. For what I know they can be serviced and repaired by Van den Hull

Some years ago, when I had my SME 20/2a, i wanted to have a better cart than the Lyra Delos. I bought, from reviews, the Kiseki Blue NS.
I couldn’t rid of the tiny edgyness, even after 150 hours and different arm set up.

As for repair, I recommend highly Van den Hull too.

Purple Heart has been repaired by Chris Allman thanks to comments on this forum. Two years ago when I accidentally damaged the cantilever I was explicitly informed directly by the importer and the owner of the company Herman Van Den Dungen that it was impossible to repair. I was treated very poorly by them at the time. It’s good to know they can now be repaired…from what I’ve learnt it could’ve been done then but it’s not an easy job.

I’ve owned my Keiski Blue NS on an Aro / Stiletto LP 12 since 2016 due to my circumstances I don’t play it often as I should. I don’t find it edgy in my system a very rewarding sound to my ears.

Regards,

Martin

Good call. If I remember correctly, Eric Clapton had one of those on his turntable.

Yep that’s the one. Chris sorted it out in a week and it’s back home and ready to go. This forum post saved the day and thanks
