QNAP router resetting

I’m having QNAP NAS problems - the NAS shows a green status light and I can reach the admin login page using the web ip address - but Q Finder pro can’t find it and I can’t enter the NAS details and keep getting a message saying the password is wrong.

I’ve done a 3 second reset, and I’ve tried using the MAC address on the back of the NAS (also using admin/admin) and nothing works so I must have corrupted something along the way.

Would doing the 10 second reset take me back to a default password setting?

It’s a basic single drive TS 131P about 10 years old….might be time to replace anyway but I’d like to see if I can make it work first.

Try Qnap support. I have used them with several issues in the past and they have always sorted the problem.

I would suggest posting on the Qnap forum. Opening a call as suggested is a sensible option too.

Fellow QNAP user here and I too couldnt find my NAS after updating QFinder few days ago. I haven’t done anything as all is working fine.

Can you connect using the QManager app? Mine works fine and all well with my NAS so assuming it’s something in the recent QFinder update.

Further to my last post, QFinder is working this morning & I’ve made no changes.

I’m using v7.13.3.0521 if it helps at all.

Thanks for the tips - I don’t think Manager will work as I’m pretty sure the problem is linked to the ip address - I’ll check out the forum and if necessary support.

Quick update as I’ve solved the problem. Qnap support were really good but in the end I discovered that the wiring arrangement I had used before (which did work for the most part) was definitely not the right thing for my latest Orbi router.

I had my both my BT hub (acting as a modem) and my Orbi router connected to my unmanaged switch whereas it should have been a direct connection between the hub and the Orbi, then a connection from the Orbi to the switch.

Changing that solved the Qnap issue and may well have explained why I kept losing a connection to my NAS even though it was ethernet.

Silly mistake but then again I’m not a network expert and I’ve learnt a lot delving into things. Anyway I thought I’d update in case it helps anyone else in the future
