Strange… yes I can imagine that annoying I would be tempted to return it.
Strange. I just checked again and now I could download all tracks. But if I look at the album in the catalog it says that some tracks can’t be purchased / downloaded individually: Snarky Puppy, Sylva (2024 Remixed & Remastered). Maybe that initially caused the issue. Anyway, now the album is complete
I see Qobuz’s interface looks more modern but don’t think they adding lyrics yet, right? I recently switched back to Tidal because kept finding albums missing here or there in Qobuz while Tidal had it. But also like that they include live lyrics on the phone app. Even roon hasn’t added that yet. Think roon ARC might but don’t use for home use.
As far as Connect goes, I’ll use Tidal when having issue with roon, which seems to happen more often than I’d like. Their Connect feature works pretty well. Not sure if Qobuz has a way to Connect without having to start the a song first when have’t used in a while. Wish Tidal had a connection button other than on play screen like Spotify has.
No experience out of first hand yet if the Connect feature from Qobuz is better than Tidal 's.
I hear the way it works seamless with different devices is better than Tidal.
Regarding lyrics. These are under consideration afaik. Some Qobuz Club members are permitted a light insight on the roadmap. But I don’t know how accurate it is.
For example: Listen later feature has been planned for quite awhile now, but I haven’t seen/heard anything on it. But that might well have to do with the fact that Connect has been a very big project for Qobuz. It’s a company with just over 100 employees worldwide. And those aren’t all devs…
As long as they keep focusing on their core business I think that’s the way to go.
Thanks to Qobuz dreadful algorithms in suggesting tunes I’m obliged to pay both Qobuz and Roon.
I’ve found the Qobuz autoplay suggestions to be excellent and very much in keeping with the chosen album. Maybe it varies depending on what you choose.
For me, the autoplay does not work well. It guesses roughly the right area and genre of music, but it does not match my taste. Our tastes are of course all different…
Naim was offering an update for my Nova today. Update was running smoothly and Qobuz Connect ist working!!!
Seems we have a silent launch (no news in the release notes) - also Qobuz dropped the new app a bit as a surprise?
Maybe announcements are still in the pipeline or coming next week-end from Munich?
But good to have it in place, I guess.
They’re coming. Just awaiting approval…
If you have the latest Qobuz app QC should just work with the newly released firmware (on iOS anyway). It’s clearly supported by the current Naim/Focal app too as playing via QC shows as such under the ‘now playing’ views in the Nain/Focal app - no update to that needed for me.
Using Qobuz Connect on my NSC222 now and it sounds absolutely wonderful
I also got it days after first use.
Just a heads up for any Primare users out there who might not know. Primare are not planning on adding Qobuz Connect to their Prisma platform. Something about memory limitations. They elected to add Qobuz support directly in their app instead, I have copied and pasted the following, which is part of, but not all, of a Primare helpdesk article on the topic
Our analysis of TIDAL and Qobuz Connect does however highlight subtle improvements in audio quality, network stability, and convenience.
By embedding TIDAL into the Prisma application, we achieve comparable benefits in audio playback and network stability.
Hopefully that treads the right line regarding forum rules.
Probably old news already but - I just confirmed a “feature” that is very important to me: System Automatin still works when using Qobuz Connect (instead of Naim app).
That’s important to me. I like to be able to be in another part of the house and still play music. Different albums require different volume. Running back and forth would not have been great. But - I don’t need to because of this.
I may be true for some systems but not others.
For example, I can’t change the volume of my NAC 552 from the ND 555 using Qobuz Connect.
Likewise on my ND5XS2
