Qobuz>Core HELP

Guys,

Remember I’m a luddite but help.

I’ve purchased a single track from Qobuz but can’t upload it to my Core. I’m on Mac.

A simple step by step would be welcome.

Best regards,

Lindsay.

The simplest way would be to download it to a USB stick on your Mac and then plug the USB stick into the Core and “import” the file into your Core using the “Import music” option in the Naim app.

I usually open up two Finder windows in the Mac. One for the Mac downloads folder, where the Qobuz purchases will be, and one for the Uniti Core downloads / music folder.
You can create a new folder for artist if needed as well as sub folders for album etc.
Then I copy ( drag) the tracks and album art from the Mac downloads folder into an appropriate new folder in the Core downloads / music folder.
It seems to work well with the dozen or so albums I have purchased so far.
It all presents well when the Core is viewed subsequently in the Naim app.
It sounds a little complicated but after a couple of downloads it is pretty easy to remember.
Mine takes a while due to the sluggish aging Mac I use though!

Remember to check and amend if necessary the metadata before copying to the Core. Qobuz can assign strange genres to files, and can also include the whole band in the album artist tag. It’s important to get these aligned with your preferences if you want a seamless browsing experience. Once this is done it’s a simple process to copy it across, using two Finder windows as Steve explained above.

I’ve always transferred files this way - until today !!
After updating the Core to the new firmware, and updating my MacBook to Tahoe
the core is now demanding that I log in as an Administrator - I always log in as “Guest”
The stupid thing is that I can create a new untitled folder in the core Downloads folder and I can copy from the Mac to that without problem - Then move the new music out of the Untitled folder!

My Mac is ancient and cannot run new operating systems, but it is set up with me as “Administrator”. and always has been. The Core is up to date with the latest firmware. Everything appears to work as before.

It is not “Administrator” for the Mac - It wants an Admin login fore the Core

Sorry, misinterpreted what you were saying.
I’m still able to create new folders in the Music sub folder of the Core Downloads folder. I have checked and I’m logged into the Core as “Guest”.
I usually create the new folder by right clicking in the “icon”view of the folders as the list view doesn’t easily accommodate that.
Strange that you are being required to log in as Admin.

Perhaps a re-boot of the Core might assist assuming you haven’t already done so?

Very wise words, it’s not irretrievable because the files will still be in your download folder but best get it right first time.

Did the update to 26.0.1 last night, and now its working again, if I drop the files into the Downloads window rather than onto the Downloads folder Icon

@davidhendon I think this is what I’ve now proved to myself - I can manually create both directories and/or sub-directories in the Downloads folder and/or sub-folders on the Core and then copy files into these either singly or in multiples.

So looks like folder creation as part of a file copy fails after 26/26.0.1 updates. I’ve eliminated av/fw as a possible cause.

Very interesting. Might be worth pointing to one of our Naim beta colleagues to this as the underlying issue may affect other Mac OS 26 interaction with Naim…
