Qobuz/Rough Trade partnership

I wonder how this is going to work? You go in to a Rough Trade store to buy a download from Qobuz? Will a Qobuz account be needed to buy a download from the Rough Trade website? It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Interesting indeed. Hopefully more of everything positive. RT in Nottingham is a credible new music live venue, albeit with a tiny performance space. It appears to attract younger music lovers. Qobuz subscriber-only or pre-sale for performances could be controversial/limiting, so I hope that won’t be a feature of the tie-up. Otherwise it will hopefully increase the longer term viability of RT.

Hi-res streaming via Qobuz of RT events could be interesting, but as said, not sure what going to a store to buy a high-res download brings to the party… unless the next tie up is with Chord for an Audiophile, shock-proof USB stick to make sure none of your precious bits get lost on the journey home…

Demographic wise..I fail to see much crossover between the two companies.
