Hi, when I ran the TT2 for a while into my 552 I used a Naim Hiline (phono to DIN) … I tried a few others such as DNM, but I preferred the Hiline with the 552.
As far as SPDIF cables, I used either Naim DC1 or Gotham Cable 75 ohm coax. Not much in it… other than a slightly different audio presentation… perhaps some sort of ‘noise shaping’ under the covers due to different weight of cable etc.
No I didn’t, but kep the TT2 PSU brick away from my Naim equipment.
Fwiw I am trialling a DAVE and Etude amplifier, It works very well. I am reliably told that although combination works with out a preamp, it works even better with the dedicated matching Chord preamp, the Prima, so I will be trialling that as well.
Even with Chord the Preamp really does optimise the system apparently to maximise the performance.
Well either way, it looks like your system is about to have a much smaller footprint. If you go for the Chord raching system, you’ll just need a 2 shelf Fraim. You might even be tempted to do a 2 shelf Quadraspire midi SVT if you swap the NDX2 for Chords streamer.
Yes I do, but each to their own ears and budget in terms of system matching.
I use a non-Naim power amp with the TT2; I disconnect the power amp during hot spells and run the TT2 straight to passive ATC speakers…
Wow, that is hideous… sorry to who ever has that system and rack.
I think black DAVE/ Prima type foot print on Fraim looks smart, understated and neat… I’ll check how good it sounds when I move my components around.
I would definitely stick with Fraim Simon, here is a photo of my black Chord components on Fraim. From the bottom, Naim Core, black Mscaler, black TT2, space, RP10. I see the Etude uses MOSFET power, like my Nagra, sounds great to my ears.
I do think Chord’s purpose designed stand for Dave really complements it visually - though at £1500 I declined it as an extra when I bought Dave. i’ve no idea if it makes any difference to the sound, or if so whether sufficient to be worth the cost.
In fact I think the rack system for that range of their products looks good, even with all in silver, though I wouldn’t want to have the system making such a visual statement so would go for black.
Apart from looking ugly, it looks cheap too. I surely didn’t expect it to cost that much until I noticed it’s made by Chord and the price tag is £1,500. Perhaps function takes precedence over form with this rack.
Similarly, apologies to owners who own this rack. I thought it made the Chord equipment look cheap. The one with 4 pillars look a lot better and elegant.
