Radio on NSC 222

New to the Forum.
Have a NSC 222 that I haven’t fired up since last year for various reasons.
Now find I cannot get my favourite radio channels to work and only have one channel of Naim Radio.
Searches for BBC for instance produces no results.
Firmware is up to date and have done a factory reset.
What am I doing wrong.
At the moment I’m mirroring radio channels off of my iphone.
Cheers,
BigBear2

You probably need to upgrade to latest firmware as radio system has changed in the last year. Edit, hmm just read that it is on latest fw but worth checking again - have you reset presets since fw upgrade?

NSC222 here playing radio ok.
Useful to state what firmware version number you are actually on.

You need to delete all radio presets and favourites and then do a search via iRadio.
Once you have a station like naim radio or bbc playing, then you can set up new presets and favourites.
This topic has been covered well on the forum previously, so always worth a search when you have an issue.

Many thanks for the prompt reply.
Firmware version 5.0.1 (7920) is installed.
It states that it is up to date.
Do you know if this is the correct version and how do I do a forced update if required?
The weird thing is a search for any radio station just comes up with ‘no results’

You should be on 5.3.0 so maybe try the update again. Do a restart including unplugging the mains cable for a few seconds first. Then you would need to delete any radio presets as old ones no longer work, but obviously you need to get things working first.

If you enter the IP address of the streamer into a web browser, you should see a page with an update function which may help, but if in doubt you should talk to Naim support when using this.

Hi BigBear2

Naim switched to their own radio service, a firmware update will get you the new stations, best to follow Naim’s advice.

  1. Update Firmware: Ensure your Naim device is updated to the latest firmware. You can typically do this through the Naim app.
  2. Remove Old Presets: Delete any existing internet radio presets you have saved.
  3. Install New Presets: Navigate to the iRadio input on your Naim device.
  4. Find and Save Stations: Locate the radio stations you want to save as presets.Once you’ve found a station, you can save it as a preset using the appropriate method for your Naim device and app.
  5. Verify: Check that the new presets are saved correctly.

Important Notes:

  • Naim App Update:

Ensure you are using the latest version of the Naim app, as this is crucial for the update process and managing presets.

  • vTuner:

The new Naim radio service replaces the old vTuner service, so any old vTuner links will need to be removed and replaced with new ones.

  • Patience:

The update process may take some time, so be patient and follow the instructions carefully.

Go to system settings and choose check for updates.

Then delete all your radio favourites and choose new ones from the iRadio search. It will then work fine.

That’s what’s supposed to happen, but given that the OP says his streamer thinks an old firmware version is the latest it seems that additional steps are required to make it behave itself.

As Chris has said, 5.3.0 is the latest version.
Best to unplug the unit, then reconnect once you have the unit plugged directly into your router via a patch cable. An update should then show in the app. If it doesn’t then time to do a full factory reset.

Thanks everyone for the helpful responses.
The unit is in our holiday home in Italy and the internet here is a weird mini sat dish system fed by a large sat dish up on the hill ( no fibre and very poor copper).
I suspect this might be blocking the feed in some way.
Will unplug and make sure the streamer is plugged directly into what is effectively the router.
Cheers
