I watched this last night and its incredible …I was staggered with the sheer immersive realism .
There is an airport which cost 4 million and a model railway with 16 km of track …Wow !
Its located in Hamburg Germany - Miniature Wonderland

On the bucket list! If you follow Michael Portillo, in one of his Continental rail journeys he’s added by them as a figure in HO on a station platform. Customary loud jacket.

A big thumbs up to Ian @Tabbycat, who reminded me about the Layout Everard Junction, It had been my intention to highlight the layout before, it shows great modeling and what can be achieved with the current Ready to Run range, however as there hadn’t been an update for over 16 months, I let things lie, I’m now pleased to say, Richard has posted an update and explained, he’s been rather busy!, enjoy.

Thanks for posting the Everhard Junction uodate and it was interesting what he did job wise with car restoration made sence as he is so adept with his hands.I often wondered what he did as all that rollingstock isnt cheap and needs a good income to fund
The house restoration showed he is more than capable with wiring and the skill to get a room looking good.
I love that South London era its based on timewise and love the amount of wagons the freight locos pull.Yeah a superb layout and thoroughly educational videos and a interesting guy.
Hes certainly got a huge amount of locomotives and rolling stock

Thanks Ian, I spent many a happy hour in the London area chasing loco hauled trains in the late 80’s and have a soft spot for the Network Southeast livery, Chris Green did a great marketing job there.
You make a good point how expensive modern ready to run stock is and the amounts required, to replicate the real thing, costs have shot up drastically over the last couple of years, its not a cheap hobby and any youngsters joining the ranks, certainly need the bank of mum and dad.

I’ve stopped buying new locos and cut down on wagon purchases a lot too. I have so much stuff already I really don’t need any more.

Just taken the time to watch this. Great layout and detailing and a great back story. I wish him every success with his new job and house.
The one very minor observation is, where is this Everard junction? He mentions the GWR ( as was) but on the LNER as a child, a very long time ago, to see two trains passing in the opposite direction was a rare delight, but to see two trains running side by side and another passing in the opposite direction would have been all my Christmases come at once.

I was looking at the new bachmann Mk 2 releases from Rails yesterday, at a discount price of £76 each without lights, they ain’t cheap and you need more than one.
I thought my last set of brawa coaches were expensive at just under £300, but they came complete with lights and in my opinion, better detailed, but would look completely out of place on a uk layout!
Just had a quick check though and this might give you a few pointers to locations etc.

From what I can gather, it’s a full time hobby for him, he’s also fortunate that he can employ and commission others to do projects for him, the 100ton tanker last week he showed cost over £220 and there’s another 17 on there way!
I would be thinking what happens if he ever loses where the layout is being built, it would be sad to just see it dismantled.
