Boulder 1108. Will be here any time now, hopefully by next week.

Wow that’s a beast in every sense. May I ask what made you choose that one? I am after a better phono stage myself but aren’t in that league.

  1. I have two tonearms on my turntable (one for mono, one for stereo). I need dual phono inputs, which the Superline doesn’t support. I grew tired of swapping cables.
  2. My dealer is a Boulder dealer, and arranged a long term home audition for me. My wife and I loved the Boulder and were disappointed to have to return it.
  3. There weren’t any other choices that I could audition in advance.

The Boulder is significantly better sounding than the Superline, even with the latter configured with SCDR, PowerLine, HiLine, and Z-Plugs for loading. I won’t keep the Superline/SCDR so hopefully it finds a happy home.

Great LP, but I recently traded my mono UA label original. I didn’t think it added anything to the terrific 1987 stereo Malcolm Addey remix/remastered CD.

Money Jungle is one that hasn’t gotten much love from me lately. I need to rectify that,

On the mono cartridge front have you gone for a modern mono cartridge or a traditional one?

Similarly, I have held off from ‘Money Jungle’ as I have the Addey CD and a UK mono UA original LP. Well covered on that title.

Lyra Atlas Lambda Mono. Modern design, but it’s a true mono cartridge.

The next Tone Poet Society exclusive is Lou Donaldson Here 'Tis. Ships around mid-April. This is one of his best albums, IMO.

I have the older AP 45, but look forward to a new Kevin Gray remaster, on 33 RPM (which I prefer anyway)
