I’ve always thought that a good pair of headphones, just like a good pair of speakers, should be able to reproduce any music well. I suppose a fundamental difference with headphones unlike speakers is that it is easy to accommodate different pairs for different styles of music - I suppose if budget allows you could have ons for every style, and for every listening situation, even some closed back some open…

When I was auditioning headphones, tried models from Audeze, Focal and Sennheiser.
Found the Audeze to be too heavy and hot when wearing them. Didn’t like the sound presentation or looks of Sennheiser.
In the end chose the Focal Elear, as liked the sound presentation, form and fit, plus the looks.
