Scrolled the list of releases and see a few things that could be good; I may take a stroll to my local shop and see what the fuss is all about.

Good hunting and hope you find decent pressings! Alas I don’t play vinyl these days. Robert Plant and Saving Grace’s Saving Grace: All That Glitters looks good. I have an original of Silly Sisters Maddy Prior & June Tabor, but good to see this on the list. There’s Joni Mitchell too.

I went to local store in St Albans, had a lengthy queue of maybe 80-100 people before you got in the store, turned around and got on with the day.
I’ll maybe take a look tomorrow but there wasn’t too much in the release list that I was desperate to get my hands on.

No queue at Rockabuy in Oakham at 10:00. But it is a little shop and whatever OMD stock they had was gone within first hour, whenever that was…

There’s also a small independent in Watford and popped in couple of weeks ago and bought a couple but it’s called The LP Cafe and seems to have expanded the cafe bit. Trouble is couldn’t get to browse letters a-d as there was a couple at the coffee table blocking access.
The St Albans one is bigger, glad they had the support but I wonder how many are once a year purchasers.
Together with my son hunting for some nice records.
Bought Annie for the misses, my son had none from the RSD selection, but grabbed a few on his list.

Visiting Bath this weekend and queue at Resolution Records was massive so didn’t bother joining it. Cannot believe it is the only independent record store in a town with so many students.

Got this today last copy in the shop was so lucky as I didn’t go in till late afternoon will give it a listen tomorrow picked up a couple of other bits not in record store day so was pretty good visit all round

Was just watching RSD recap vids on YouTube and that one caught my eye

I did pop into town on Saturday around 4pm and found that my local (and smallish sized) shop was still pretty busy and buzzing. More surprisingly was that they had 2-3 crates of RSD offerings.
I went with a list of 10 that looked interesting on the website, and found that I had missed a bunch while casually scrolling through. Pick up 3 three and gave one away to my mate who’s a Talking Heads fan (the CBS Demos.)
Wasn’t until yesterday that I realised that most of the offerings (or at least the ones most interesting to me) are live album releases. The Cars, Ramones, Steely Dan, Springsteen, Tony Bennet, Tom Petty records were all live show releases. The other ones on my list were new compilations (Buddy Holly, Marshall Crenshaw, The Everly Brothers)
I suppose if this is the format or strategy of RSD, I could live with that. Or any other previously unreleased stuff. I was really surprised watching YouTube content on how popular this has now become. People queuing up at 1am and being allowed 5 minute numbered slots in some stores. I remember this being a thing many years ago, but like a minor passing thing.
