So, I can play my much loved library of cassette tapes thru my UnitiStar (lots of off-air recordings I made back in the day) but, am I correct in assuming it’s not possible to record?
Yes, you’re correct in that it doesn’t have a conventional fixed level tape output. At a push, I suppose you could use the preamp output to feed into your cassette deck, but that output is subject to the Uniti Star volume control.
Wonder if a headphone amp would work
If you have a computer get an inexpensive USB audio interface like this. Phono out from the cassette deck in to the inputs on the box and USB in to the computer. Record with Audacity (great free and open source software) and export the audio to flac or whatever format you want. All very simple and works a treat. I’ve been using the Behringer recently to rip some vinyl that has never been released on CD and not found on streaming services
