I’m at my wits end trying to sort out electrical hum from a Rega P1 deck, Rega Fono preamp and SuperUniti. It’s to a level that I can’t ignore. It seems to come from the motor circuitry rather than being picked up from the SU as I’ve tried it plugged into my Bose Wave radio as well with similar results. I’ve tried all the grounding tricks etc and nothing seems to improve the situation. Has anyone here had this deck and got on Ok with it?
Do you have access to another phono stage to try.. so that can be eliminated or otherwise?
Is the hum constant regardless of what the turntable is doing?

Turns out this story has a happy ending.
The cartridge was wired incorrectly by the dealer. The dealer had put an Audio Technica cartridge on it along with upgrading to a glass platter before I bought it. But… The R channel + and L channel - were interchanged. I only noticed it because I had another Ortofon cartridge in a headshell from my old Numark DJ deck.
Finally could wind up the volume and play Dark Side of the Moon. (And found out my fiancée was actually looking for a new turntable for me.)
