I would not make such big deal with that.
Personally I tried the leather mat, based on good reviews, and didn’t return it back.
The sound signature didn’t changed, just begun more relaxed, spacious, and with same involvement and dynamics.
The bonus was no static.

I’ve had a leather mat and was not particularly impressed. I’ve had cork and that now is used as my sacrifice mat for dirty records on the RCM.
Acrylic I gave away.
Most of these were on an LP12, but some on Regas as well.
Used to have… last one was Dr.Feickert blackbird
Kronos is my dream:) even the half portion one!
