Rega P9 runs slow with EBLTs

I was just trying to understand what the mechanism is and if the Xerxes does something special. And I believe it was the same for @n-lot. After all, not every turntable manual says this.

It’s quite easy to test this with a deck that has a separate motor “pod”. Here placement can be critical in order to get the right tension. Stick a strobe disc on the platter and you’ll see how the speed accuracy can be affected with greater or lesser tension on the belt. I guess this is why some decks of this kind use a thread instead.

Is it because more tension means less slip?
