Rega Wall Bracket Question

I have a P3. Thinking about getting the matching wall bracket. However, if I later upgrade to a P8/P10, apparently those require a different wall bracket.

Do both types of brackets have the same footprint on the wall in terms of the holes you have to make? I would hate to upgrade and have to make new holes.

Thanks

There are different wall brackets depending on where the feet are and where the rigidity needs to be to isolate the TT.

They do have the same footprint/dimensions.

The older RP8/10 models if you bought one used can be put on the RP6 bracket with adapters from Rega but the new Planar 8/10 models can’t.

Edited to add rereading your post you ask about the screw hole spacing on the brackets. I do not know, you will have to contact Rega or your local dealer to find that detail out I think.

The P8/10 shelf is much smaller and the mounting holes are closer together. I’d wait until the better TT appears and then get the shelf. It’s quite hard to get the two holes dead level and you don’t want to be doing it twice.

That’s perfect, thank you! Saved me from making a big mistake.

Could get a universal one

I had the dedicated Rega RP6 wall shelf bracket, and as good as it was, it is model specific and does restrict choice. My solution was to change from the Rega bracket to a Quadraspire Q4 Evo.

Three reasons…

  • It will accommodate any turntable up to 50kg.
  • Rega’s P8 / P10 skeletal wall bracket leaves the tonearm and cartridge a little more exposed than I’d like.
  • There is now space to fit a bespoke perspex dust cover over a P8 / P10.

If I do buy a P10 and the Quadraspire compromises the sound quality, then I’ll rethink.

Edit: The P10 wall bracket is lovely and neat though, and looks like it is part of the turntable!

Does anyone make a Sound Org-style turntable stand? It would be great to get the P3 on a better mount until I upgrade

but the space is tight.

The NOKtable?
NOKturne Audio, but the formatting of that web page will not let me read more than a couple of lines.

If going just for a temporary solution, I’d be tempted to shift the rega onto your main cabinet, and just get an Iso Acoustics isolation platform (or similar) to go underneath

Also. If you could “try before you buy” - as the difference is quite subtle, so might not be worth the cost

Perfect, thank you! Can’t believe I didn’t know about this.

Great suggestion. Unfortunately most stereo gear - especially turntables and CD players - sound noticeably bad on that buffet. I’d be leery of trying to make more lemonade out of lemons than I’m already doing by having the SN3 on there.

Could you get a Projekt wall shelf or an old Target or equivalent? Some of those would fit low enough that your sleek Rega turntable would be below the level of your TV.

When I had my P10 I had the little Rega shelf. It’s the best way to support the deck, and looks great on the wall. It’s almost as though the TT is floating in space.

I like how compact the P8/P10 shelf is.
