I’ve just got a REL T5/x it’s connected my Atom any recommended setting or support on this please.
What are your main speakers? Where you set the crossover will depend somewhat on their range to a degree
You may find the REL website resources helpful. Plenty of videos including one on setting the crossover.
With my setup definitely it was a case of setting the crossover point (by ear starting at about the 1/3rd position) then adjusting the volume. Do one at a time.

Thanks Bruce, my speakers are Dali Opticon 2 mk2
I think looking at your speakers they don’t go very low, so you might need to set the crossover accordingly higher. For my ears I dont want to hear the sub, ie not as a seperate element. Subtlety from the sub absolutely works in my system.
REL suggest trying to position a single sub in a corner if possible.

Hello. I have my second Atom based system with the speakers (KEF LS50’s) either side of a fire place. As this is our main living room, the deal with my wife was that it made very little visual impact, however it’s not a small room and the KEFs were in desperate need of a bit of help.
My solution was a pair of T5x subs which, because of their downward facing driver, could be hidden behind the TV or small tub chair. My experience is that a pair of subs is always better than a single and my experience with REL made it a no brainer. The sound stage expands and the whole system benefits.
Because REL recommend high level connection, I have the subs connected to the rear of the KEFs which also cuts out a lot of the cabling. ( I hate cable spaghetti and speaker runs).
How does it sound…well pretty damn good actually and the RELs make a big difference. A final thought is that used T5/Xs are often available and a considerable discount making the dual sub option viable. Just a thought.
It takes quite a while to set them up as you like it. I’ve a MJ Acoustics sub & PMC 25/23is speakers, finally got it right so I can “hear and feel” the low end but doesn’t overwhelm the main speakers.
